Cancelling a subscription
How
- Sign in to the Cliqly dashboard.
- Open the Billing page.
- Choose Cancel subscription and confirm.
No need to contact us, no reason required, and no cancellation fee. The button is in the dashboard because cancelling should be as easy as subscribing.
When it takes effect
What happens until that date
- Every link keeps redirecting as normal.
- Every domain stays connected and its certificate keeps renewing.
- QR codes already printed keep working.
- Analytics keeps running and the API stays available.
- No new charges.
What happens after that date
- The organisation drops to the Free plan and the Free limits apply.
- Your data is not deleted. Links above the Free limit remain and keep redirecting; what is restricted is creating new links and domains until the count is back under the limit.
- REST API access stops, because the API is a paid-plan feature.
Changing your mind
As long as the end date has not passed, you can resume from the Billing page at no extra cost — the period does not restart and nothing further is charged.
No pro-rata refunds
Because cancelling does not cut access short mid-period, there is no refund for the days that remain. This applies to monthly and yearly subscriptions alike, and it applies when you simply stop using the service early of your own accord.
- No part-month refunds. Cancelling on day 3 of a monthly period does not produce a refund for the remaining 27 days; you keep the paid plan until day 30.
- Yearly subscriptions are not partially refunded. Consider starting monthly if you are not sure — the price difference is what that certainty costs.
- Moving down a plan does not produce a refund. Any overpayment is carried as credit by the payment provider against the next invoice, rather than returned as cash.
We state this up front, on the pricing page and in the Terms of Service. It is not something that appears for the first time when you try to leave.
Refunds for billing errors
This is what we do refund, and we refund it in full. Raise it within 14 calendar days of the invoice date.
- A double charge — two charges for the same period.
- The wrong amount — the sum charged does not match the plan price shown on the pricing page when you subscribed.
- A charge after cancelling — a renewal that went ahead even though the cancellation was confirmed before the renewal date.
- A charge on an account you do not recognise, once we have verified that the transaction was indeed unauthorised.
- A prolonged service failure caused by us that made all of your links unreachable for more than 24 consecutive hours within one billing period. The refund is calculated in proportion to the outage.
What is not a billing error
- Changing your mind, or the service turning out not to suit you.
- Forgetting to cancel before the automatic renewal date.
- A feature we never claimed to have.
- A third party blocking your links — a mobile carrier, a social platform or a security vendor — which is outside our control.
- Suspension or termination of an account for breaching the prohibited use rules.
- Reaching a plan quota. A quota is not a service failure, and existing links keep working when one is passed.
How to claim a refund
Email billing@cliqly.dev from the address registered on the account, with the subject “Refund request”, and include:
- The invoice number, or the date and amount of the transaction.
- The Organisation name on the Cliqly account.
- Your reason, briefly.
- Supporting evidence if you have it — a screenshot of the statement line, or the payment confirmation email.
We acknowledge the request within 2 working days and give a written decision — accepted or refused, with the reasoning — within 5 working days of receiving a complete request. If it is refused we explain on what basis, and you may appeal once with further information.
How long a refund takes
| Payment method | Typical time to arrive after processing |
|---|---|
| Credit / debit card | 5–14 working days, following the issuer’s cycle |
| PayPal | 3–7 working days |
| Apple Pay / Google Pay | 5–14 working days, following the underlying card |
- Money is returned to the same payment method it came from. We cannot refund to a different account — that is the payment processor's rule, and it is also a fraud safeguard.
- If your card has expired or been closed, the money usually still reaches the linked account; if it fails, contact your card issuer.
- For wallet payments, the payment processor may ask for a destination account. We will pass that request on to you.
- The figures above are typical ranges, not guarantees. If more than 14 working days pass without the money arriving, contact us at billing@cliqly.dev and we will trace it with the payment processor.
When we cancel
For a breach
If we suspend or terminate an account for breaching the prohibited use rules — phishing, malware distribution, fraud, spam or unlawful content — there is no refund for the remainder of the subscription period.
You still have the right to appeal under the appeals procedure. If your appeal succeeds and our action turns out to have been wrong, access is restored and your subscription period is extended by the length of the suspension.
Because we shut the service down
If we permanently discontinue the Service, or discontinue a plan, through no fault of yours, we refund the unused portion of the subscription fee pro rata per day, and give you at least 30 calendar days' notice so you have time to move your links.
Bank disputes and chargebacks
If you believe you were charged in error, contact us first. We can almost always settle it faster than a bank dispute, and at no cost to either side.
Raising a chargeback without contacting us first suspends the account until the dispute closes, because the disputed funds are held by the payment processor and we cannot establish the subscription's status while that lasts. This is not a penalty; it is a consequence of how the payment mechanism works.
Your statutory rights as a consumer under the law that applies to you are not reduced by anything on this page.
The Free plan
The Free plan is never charged, has no expiry date, and never turns into a paid plan by itself. Because no money changes hands, there is nothing to refund. You can stop using it at any time by deleting the account from the dashboard.
